Washington Conservatory faculty members, Mayumi Pawel, violin, and Jaewon Lee, piano, will perform a one-hour casual concert featuring music from Japan, Czechia & Argentina.
Violinist Mayumi Pawel has performed solo and chamber concerts in Japan and the United States, including a performance for the Royal Family at Emperor’s Palace and the Japanese Embassy in Washington, D.C. She is a former member of Cezanne Trio, National Philharmonic, and Washington Ballet Orchestra. She completed a Master and Bachelor of Music from Ueno-Gakuen College in Tokyo, studying with Toshiya Eto, a Master of Music from University of Wyoming, and additional studies at Eastman School of Music with Sylvia Rosenberg. She is a former faculty member of Ueno-Gakuen College and a current faculty member of Washington Conservatory of Music.
Pianist Jaewon Lee's international performances have included a solo recital of all twenty-four Chopin Etudes at the Sejong Cultural Center in Seoul, South Korea, and with the Seoul National University Orchestra at the National Theater of Korea as winner of the concerto competition. She was a semifinalist in Pro Art in New York, and received the William Kurzban Prize from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has played concertos with Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Central Philharmonic Orchestra, the Suburban Symphony Orchestra, and others. She is a faculty member of Washington Conservatory of Music.

This program is presented in coordination with Art Walk in the Park. Every First Friday, May through September from 6pm to 8pm, the Glen Echo Park Partnership hosts open studios and artist demonstrations in the Park's many visual arts studios and galleries. Each month features different activities.
The Washington Conservatory is a nationally accredited community music school for students of all ages. The Conservatory welcomes both seasoned and novice classical concert-goers and encourages families to attend our concerts with their children.
Parking is available in the large parking lot at Glen Echo Park.
