SUMMARY:Guest Masterclass: Alicia Kosack\, Flute
DESCRIPTION:Stay tuned on how to RSVP and apply for the masterclass! \n  \nDr. Alicia Kosack is a flutist\, educator\, and arts administrator whose work brings together performance\, teaching\, and community through thoughtful programming and artistic collaboration. As a soloist and chamber musician\, she is particularly interested in works by women and living composers\, exploring repertoire that expands the traditional flute canon. \nRecent honors include first place in the 2025 National Flute Association (NFA) Low Flute Artist Competition\, winning the 2023 and 2026 NFA Convention Performers Competition\, and third place in the 2025 American Prize in Instrumental Performance. She regularly performs and presents at festivals and conferences\, including the NFA Convention\, the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention\, the International Low Flutes Festival\, the Music by Women Festival\, and the International Saxophone Symposium. She has commissioned and premiered several new works\, reflecting her commitment to expanding the flute repertoire. \nA dedicated educator with more than three decades of teaching experience spanning private\, community\, and collegiate settings\, Dr. Kosack serves as Adjunct Professor of Flute at York College of Pennsylvania and teaches students of all ages through YCPrep. She is a frequent clinician and presenter who enjoys working with flutists through masterclasses\, workshops\, and educational programs. \nAn active leader within the flute community\, Dr. Kosack serves on the NFA Low Flutes Committee and will begin a four-year term as committee chair in November 2026. She is also a past Vice President of the Flute Society of Washington and former program chair for the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention. Beyond her performing and teaching\, she serves as Senior Executive Assistant at Arts for Learning Maryland and previously managed the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestras. She holds degrees from the University of Maryland\, the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University\, and the Harid Conservatory.
