Always wanted to play guitar? This relaxed, supportive group class is designed just for adult beginners. Learn the essentials of acoustic guitar — how to tune, strum, play basic chords, and read simple chord charts — while exploring familiar songs in a fun, social setting. No experience needed! The focus is on developing solid fundamentals, confidence, and enjoyment of making music together.

For singers of all levels! Curious about resonance, ornaments and phrasing for a traditional Irish sound? Learn techniques specific to Irish Music while gathering a repertoire of traditional Celtic songs. Use the whole body as an instrument and learn tools to relax for better sound and more joy!

Combined class for advanced beginning players. Some basic knowledge of the instrument, fingering, simple scales, and simple tunes is required. Explore the rich mostly aural tradition of Irish music and expand your repertoire. Irish tunes learned by ear: jigs, reels, hornpipes, polkas. Learn about fingering, ornamentation, breath control, intonation, basic repertoire and listening recommendations. Bring Irish flute or tin whistle in key of D and recording device.

Take your Irish flute and tin whistle playing to the next level in this dynamic class led by renowned musician Tina Eck. Designed for intermediate and advanced players, this course focuses on refining technique, rhythm, breath control, ornamentation, phrasing, and various styles within traditional Irish music. Students will expand their repertoire with jigs, reels, marches, waltzes, hornpipes, flings and more while developing greater fluency in playing by ear. This class is also designed to bring students to a level to be able to join one of the many informal Irish sessions in the DMV area or Ireland. Bring an Irish flute or tin whistle in the key of D and a recording device (smart phone).
Experience the joy of singing songs from movies and pop music while moving your body to the rhythm in fun, engaging activities. Each day is filled with creative art projects and hands-on learning that makes music come alive. Campers will shine in a final performance, sharing their creativity with family and caretakers.
