Elizabeth Waterbury

Recital Collaborative Pianist

Elizabeth Waterbury, D.M.A, holds two degrees in Piano Performance, including a Master’s from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. 

She continued her education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned her doctorate in conducting.  She has accompanied many recitals, both instrumental and vocal. 

Her collaborative piano studies included work with Susan Webb at the San Francisco Opera, and James Pearson at the Frankfurt Opera in Germany.  She was on faculty full-time for 25 years at Shasta Community College, where she conducted operas, musicals and choral/orchestral works with the Shasta Symphony.  She was assistant conductor for the Santa Barbara Grand Opera, and earned a Grammy in 1990 as part of a team of conductors for Orff’s “Carmina Burana”  (Best Choral Album).   She lives in Fort Washington, Maryland with her husband bass-baritone Robert Waterbury.
