Now in its 10th Anniversary Season, join the Washington Conservatory of Music’s Accord Symphony Orchestra (AcSO) for an inspiring afternoon celebrating the extraordinary talent of emerging soloists.
Each spring, the Accord Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition highlights exceptional musicians from across the Washington, DC region. Since its founding a decade ago, the competition has featured dozens of remarkable young artists and accomplished performers. After a highly competitive audition process, selected winners earn the opportunity every classical musician dreams of: performing their concerto or featured work with a full orchestra.
At this special concert, audiences will experience these rising artists performing beloved masterworks of the classical repertoire accompanied by the Accord Symphony Orchestra under the direction of its distinguished conductor, Julien Benichou.
This year’s concert features AcSO Concerto Competition Winner flutist Lisa Choi performing the dazzling Borne Carmen Fantasie and CYSO Concerto Competition Winner Vivienne Newberger performing “Spring” from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.
The program culminates with Mozart’s Symphony No. 29, one of the composer’s most vibrant and beloved orchestral works.
