M.M. (Suzuki pedagogy), Ithaca College; B.M. (viola performance), Oberlin Conservatory.

Wisconsin-born violinist and violist. Trained with Carrie Reuning-Hummel at Ithaca College. Her other teachers include Peter Slowik, David Quiggle, Yuliya Smead, and Barbara Beechey. Johnson has received additional Suzuki training from Sandy Reuning, Kimberly Meier-Sims, Ed Kreitman, and Tom Wermuth. As an orchestral musician, Johnson has performed as a member of The Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, and the National Festival Orchestra at the National Orchestral Institute. She has also performed as a member of the Florestan Quartet and as part of the Credo Chamber Music Festival. Johnson has been teaching for over ten years.

Rebecca Carey studied Suzuki flute pedagogy with the founder, Toshio Takahashi.  She was a co-presenter and performer at the 2023 51st Annual National Flute Association Convention in Phoenix, Arizona, for sessions including Suzuki Flute: The French Connection and The Suzuki Method Legacy.  She earned a Master of Music in flute performance from Northwestern University, and a B.M. from Ohio State University.  She is a former faculty member at Levine Music.

Kathleen Ellingson Jacobi

M.M., University of Southern California; B.M., Manhattan School of Music

Kathleen Ellingson Jacobi began playing the flute at age 6 and competed in MTNA national competitions, played in the Utah Youth Symphony, and participated in flute and chamber music workshops.  She received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, studying with Linda Chesis, and her Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California, studying with Jim Walker.  She has played under conductors including JoAnn Falletta, Gerard Schwartz, and James Conlon, and performed in the Walt Disney Concert Hall with her woodwind quintet, Sound of 5.  She is a former faculty member at Levine Music.
