Learn from the Violin Master, Hal Grossman, as he teaches local violinists on a range of levels. Currently, Mr. Grossman is Associate Professor of Violin at The University of Oregon, Artistic Director of the Northwest Music Retreat, and serves on the violin faculties of the Aria International Summer Academy and the Marrowstone Music Festival. He was formerly on the violin faculty at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, Miami University, and the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Grossman’s students can be found in the New York Philharmonic, National Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, and in every major music conservatory in the nation, including Curtis, Juilliard, New England, and San Francisco.Mr. Grossman is the founder of The Grossman Method©, a course of study addressing musicians’ health issues. The Method is a unique teaching system that addresses musicians’ health and performance issues within the applied lesson structure. Including a confluence of Yoga, Feldenkrais Method, and Alexander Technique, The Grossman Method has an international presence and has been used by leading performing artists. The Grossman Method was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in String Pedagogy by the American String Teachers Association in 2018.He will present his workshop ‘No Pain, All Gain’ on Monday, January 19th from 10:00 to 11:30 am EST.
