Violinist Katie Lansdale, professor at the Conservatory, is an active soloist, chamber musician, and teacher who has performed across the Americas and Europe. She has appeared with the National Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Cleveland Chamber Symphony, and New York Spectrum Orchestra, and is widely acclaimed for her solo Bach, having performed full cycles more than a dozen times. A winner of the Fischoff and Yellow Springs national chamber competitions, she has collaborated with Yo-Yo Ma, Marcy Rosen, Robert McDonald, the Miami Quartet, and the Shanghai Quartet.
Lansdale is a founder of the Locrian new music group and a longtime member of the internationally recognized Lions Gate Trio, winners of the Koussevitzky Award, with residencies at Tanglewood, Yale, and the Hartt School. The trio has recorded for the Triton and Centaur labels. A Yale graduate, she studied with Josef Gingold and Donald Weilerstein and now teaches at the Hartt School and Boston Conservatory.
